Seattle Children’s Hospital Mission

“We provide hope, care and cures to help every child live the healthiest and most fulfilling life possible.”

Seattle Children’s Guild Association is the largest all-volunteer fundraising network for any hospital in the nation.  It serves as the umbrella organization for nearly 450 guilds within Washington, Idaho, Montana and Alaska.

Guild members can support Children’s Hospital in many different ways.  While most activity as a guild member falls within the Guild Association, some areas of giving are administered through the Seattle Children’s Hospital Foundation.  The Association and Foundation work closely together to raise money for Children’s Hospital and share resources to ensure the most productive and cost effective operation.

Collectively, the guilds raised $16.9 million in fiscal year 2017.  The Sequim Guild was credited with providing $48,000 of support to Seattle Children’s Hospital in fiscal year 2017.

The Guild Association supports Children’s commitment to provide care to all children in our region regardless of their families’ ability to pay.  This is called uncompensated care and is at the heart of the Guild Association.  The Sequim Guild is also a research guild in that it contributes a portion of its funds raised to support the hospital’s ability to conduct ground-breaking research.

In 2017 Seattle Children’s Hospital treated 1366 Clallam County children which included 3208 total patient visits (both admissions and outpatient) absorbed $1.6 million in uncompensated care for Clallam County children.

If you would like to join us in supporting Seattle Children’s mission we’d love to hear from you.  It’s great fun and very rewarding.

Sequim Guild meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 1 p.m., except for July and August. The meetings are held upstairs at The Lodge at Sherwood Village, 660 Evergreen Farm Way, Sequim
